About Hubspot and GMIG

GMIG an official partner of Hubspot and we are very proud of the fact we are one of the first marketing agencies in the UK to achieve this status.

The GMIG & Hubspot Story

Hubspot originated from MIT (The Massachusetts Institute of Technology, which you may have heard referred to in many Hollywood films.) Apart from being a top-flight university, MIT is a business incubator, and Hubspot was one of the business that emerged.

The founders of Hubspot noticed their colleagues at MIT were spending a great deal of time and money on traditional marketing methods like cold calling and mailshots, but were getting ever diminishing returns. They were spending a fraction of the money, and getting much better results using the Internet. They wrote down what they were doing, and that became the Hubspot methodology - essentially an Internet business plan that could be used for any small or medium sized organisation. They then developed the Hubspot toolset, which provides everything a business needs to implement the methodology.

Hubspot started to take on clients to use their system, and the results were astonishing. A couple of years after Hubspot started another MIT student produced a warts-and-all report on the return on investment Hubspot clients were getting. You can download the latest version of this report here.

Until this point Hubspot was geared to sell it's system directly into businesses that has the internal resources and inclination to use the system for themselves. This is the point GMIG became aware of Hubspot, and started to use their resources to deliver better results to its clients.

To be effective using Hubspot it is essential to learn and understand everything about Inbound marketing, and so Hubspot created the Inbound Marketing University: GMIG signed up immediately and Jason Rudland, founder of GMIG became the first at GMIG to graduate. It now the minimum requirement for anyone who works for GMIG to graduate from the IMU.

Enthused by what he had learned, Jason enquired about becoming a partner with Hubspot there and then. Unfortunately, Hubspot did not have an official partner program at that time, and their resources at that time could only stretch to some partner companies local to them in Cambridge (in Massachusetts, not where Morse comes from!)

About a year later GMIG was almost exclusively using everything Hubspot made public about their methodology and tools to deliver better results to its clients...and then an email arrived. It was from Hubspot saying they were opening the official partner program, and would GMIG be interested? Needless to say, GMIG bit their arm off at the opportunity. 

Hubspot showed a massive commitment to GMIG by allocating a dedicated account manager who helps GMIG with any enquiries and will often attend meetings with potential clients. Not to mention the educational support and resources. In return GMIG had to demonstrate it could use Hubspot successfully, not only for themselves, but on behalf of its clients.

GMIG and Hubspot have a very close relationship; to the point where from the client's perspective we can be thought of as the same company (we are not, but we work that closely together!) GMIG has helped Hubspot to access the section of the marketplace where the business sees the benefits of using Hubspot, but do not have the resources or inclination internally to put it all into action.

GMIG now is now exclusively a Hubspot Inbound Marketing Agency - by choice!
